From developing India’s first 5 MW solar farm to Asia’s first 30 MW, the solar arm of the Hindustan Power has already established itself as a player of distinction. With an installed capacity of ~ 500 MW generating carbon savings of approx 500000 tonnes per year, Hindustan Cleanenergy is the largest solar farm developer in India. The company is on track to be the first solar player from the country to develop 2 GW by end of 2017.
Some of its major international projects are in Germany (24 MWp) and then world’s largest greenhouse roof mounted PV project at Sardinia in Italy (20 MWp) in collaboration with a leading energy player. The area utilized for this greenhouse project will not only increase the yields of agricultural crops but also produce 20 MWp of electricity which is equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 10,000 dwellings and non-emission of 25,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide per year in the atmosphere.
Additionally, Hindustan Cleanenergy had also established UK’s largest Solar PV project at Trefullock (5 MWp). It is aggressively expanding its footprints into new markets and aims to set up 125 -150 MWp of capacities.
